The Fluval U1 is a great option for aquariums up to 55L. Its small size enables you to easily hide it behind decorations or plants. It can be mounted vertically or horizontally.

It contains a single sponge pad which effectively removes particles from the water whilst also providing a great place for beneficial bacteria to form. The centre of the sponge can be removed, allowing you to insert some chemical or biological media.

The simple design of this filter makes maintenance very easy. Just remove the filter from the aquarium, remove the sponge pad and squeeze it in a bucket of tank water to remove the waste.

Access to the filter sponge is made incredibly simple thanks to the clever flip top lid design and the motor being positioned at the bottom of the unit.
